Stoneygate Tram Depot Open Day – 14th August

Stoneygate Tram Depot will be open again on Sunday, 14th August from 10 am to 4.30 pm. The open day will launch the celebration of Midland Red’s presence in Leicester. The company opened its first bus garage in Leicester 100-years ago in August 1922. There will be a number of Midland Red related displays for visitors to enjoy. We would be delighted to see anyone who worked for Midland Red and we would love to hear their memories of the company.

The open-day also coincides with the popular Oadby Motor Fest which is staged in The Parade in Oadby and also a Motor Show at Leicester Racecourse. We will be operating a free shuttle service between the Tram Depot and Oadby Parade with also a stop on Leicester Road to allow an opportunity for visitors to also make the short walk up to the Racecourse.

On this occasion there will be a modest entrance charge of £2 per adult with accompanied children free.
