Leyland PD3

After withdrawal from service in Leicester in June 1978, the bus spent many years based in the Surrey area in use as a mobile sports shop. The vehicle was then purchased by the Scott May’s Daredevil Stunt Show in 2007 on eBay, who planned a radical conversion of the bus for a “World Record Attempt” at driving a double decker on its side wheels in the hopes of breaking the current record distance of 800 feet.

The bus was relocated to Cornwall for work to take place, which included the removal of the Leyland 0600 engine and the front and rear axles to be replaced with the engine and axles from a Ford Cargo Truck.

There have been no recent updates on if the project was ever completed.
