The Leicestershire & Rutland Heritage Awards celebrate the work of independent museums and heritage groups across the counties. The awards are delivered by the Leicestershire & Rutland Heritage Forum and supported by the Leicestershire Council.
This year there was a record breaking 34 applications, spread across 7 categories. The judges had a rearly tough time selecting the winners.
The LTHT was pleased to be a Category winner: Best Collections Project the Whole Shoe. with Project 50: Restoration of a Leicester City Transport Double Decker Bus.
Volunteers of the LTHT fully restored TBC 50X over 8 years and impressed the judges with the impressive amount of time taking to perform the full restoration which included meticulous research on the historic interior of the bus. The bus is now regulary used by the Trust on bus running days and other events to promote the work of the Trust.
