Leicester Bus Station Opening 7th May 2016.

The new 13.5 million pound Leicester City Centre, Haymarket Bus Station, opened today on the 7th May 2016. Although regular bus services were planned to start the following day a small number of vintage buses were invited along to take part in the opening celebrations. Vehicles on show including ex Leicester City Transport, Leyland Titans FJF 193 (LTHT) and TBC 163 (APS), along with Dennis Dominators TBC 50X (LTHT) and C100 UBC. The Nottingham Area Bus Society brought along the fine looking ex Barton AEC Regent V 854 FNN and representing the old Midland Red fleet was BMMO S15 5056 HA.

A free vintage bus service connected the Haymarket Bus Station with the Abbey Pumping Station Museum.
