Sunday 5th September 2021 Leicester Classic Bus Road Run

Calling all photographers/enthusiasts. Sunday 5th September 2021 there will be small ‘Leicester Classic Bus Road Run’. It’s not really intended as a rally, but more of a sort of unofficial rolling advertisement for the upcoming Quorn & Woodhouse Bus & Train Spectacular (where you will see much more in action) but also a way of us exercising some of our preserved fleet which have been stationary for far too long. More details to follow in future posts but the rough plan will be travel into town along the A6, Abbey Park Road, St.Georges, Railway Station, London Road and out to the Tram Depot. We will then return through the City using Aylestone Road, (taking in Newarke St, Pocklington’s Walk and Bowling Green St if the current roadworks are clear by then and it’s not pedestrianised or too difficult to navigate!), Oxford St, Vaughan Way, St. Margarets Way and then A6 out of town. No special stops or passenger pickups I’m afraid but hopefully a parade of about 10 vehicles that you can watch, video and photograph. It’s planned to be hitting Abbey Park Rd on the inbound journey at about 11.30am then as long as it takes to do the circuit. We can do updated posts on Facebook during the day so you can plan your photo-spot without wondering if we have already passed you. It will be great to get some of the fleet out. Hope you can make it!
