Stoneygate Tram Depot Open Day / Clarendon Park Festival

Do you fancy a FREE ride on a classic bus this Sunday?

On Father’s Day, Sunday 16th June, Leicester Transport Heritage Trust will be opening the doors of the Stoneygate Tram Depot, which is celebrating its 120th birthday!

Enjoy a cup of tea and a biscuit and view the displays illustrating the history of the tram and bus services in the local area. We will also have examples of large scale maps showing how the Clarendon Park, South Knighton and Stoneygate areas have developed over the last 100 years. There will be a modest entrance charge of just £2 and free for accompanied children.

Children of all ages enjoy their visit to the Tram Depot, especially the ‘pop-up- bus’ and the opportunity to have a pretend drive of “Speedy” an old Kirby & West milk float!

We will also be operating FREE vintage bus rides from the Tram Depot bus stop every 30 minutes from 10.30 am until 3.30 pm.

A round trip takes approximately 20 minutes but you may like to break your journey at the Victoria Park Road bus stop, at its junction with Queens Road where the Clarendon Park Summer Fair will be taking place.

Heritage bus rides will depart for the Tram Depot from the Victoria Park Road stop at 10.40 am and every 30 minutes until 3.10 pm

The event is finished.
